M. E. Rabb was born in Manhattan, raised in Sunnyside, Queens, and now lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband Marshall and their asthmatic cat.

She has published short stories and essays in various magazines including Seventeen, The Atlantic Monthly, and Mademoiselle.
